Work On It

Last Sunday, I spoke about how inadequate systems are one of the largest obstacles to African’s creating lasting and sustainable home-made solutions for Africa. The tagline: inadequate systems means inadequate solutions. During the message, I made reference to one of the best books I’ve read on how to set up systems for your business or non-profit initiative. Quite a few people asked me about it so I decided to post it up here.

Emyth Revisited by Michael Gerber is a must-read for entrepreneurs, whether you’re running a large corporate or managing your ‘side hustle’. Key lesson for me: how to work on your business, not in it! Carol and I were blessed to have read it before we began a very effective business, and have found it’s lessons useful even for those leading a church like myself. I recommend  you read a couple of chapters at a time and process it with several other friends for maximum effect.

I suspect one day you’ll thank me for this reference! Just remember me when you give your COYA speech or better still, name one of your kids after me 🙂

  4. Hi Pst. M,

Sometimes I come to Church and the sermon is just A sermon. Then a few weeks later, months later, and even years… I realise that the sermon was THE sermon… may the good Lord continue to bless the work of your heart…

  5. Hi Pastor

My fiancee has been talking so much how the sermons have been ‘Bringing the house down’… But coz of being in Dar ,I miss the Sermons. So I’m amazed to see you recommend the book THE E MYTH ~ I just got the audio book so that I can take advantage of the loads of time wasted in traffic yet unavoidable by listening to it. You recommending it just confirms my season of growth in entrepreneurship . One day WE SHALL!’ give that speech. Thanks again!

    Baraka Tele
